For more than 25 years the Chair of Visual Computing researches methods for the generation, processing and analysis of images and 3D-models. This includes disciplines such as computer graphics, visualization, geometry processing, virtual reality, computer vision, or 3d reconstruction.
According to "Papers with Code", Darius' and Linus' Paper "ADOP: Approximate Differentiable One-Pixel Point Rendering" was the "most talked about paper in social media". Congratulations! See the project page for more information.
We welcome Bernhard Egger as new Professor at our chair. Bernhard holds a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Basel and has spent the last three years as a PostDoc at MIT. He joined our group in September to build up the new "Cognitive Computer Vision Lab".
Nikolai Hofmann won the Best Paper Presentation Award for his presentation of the paper "Interactive Path Tracing And Reconstruction of Sparse Volumes" at I3D (http://i3dsymposium.github.io/2021/awards.html). Congratulations!
