For more than 25 years the Chair of Visual Computing researches methods for the generation, processing and analysis of images and 3D-models. This includes disciplines such as computer graphics, visualization, geometry processing, virtual reality, computer vision, or 3d reconstruction.
We welcome Bernhard Egger as new Professor at our chair. Bernhard holds a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Basel and has spent the last three years as a PostDoc at MIT. He joined our group in September to build up the new "Cognitive Computer Vision Lab".
Nikolai Hofmann won the Best Paper Presentation Award for his presentation of the paper "Interactive Path Tracing And Reconstruction of Sparse Volumes" at I3D (http://i3dsymposium.github.io/2021/awards.html). Congratulations!
in summer term 2021, we will offer a new lecture, given by Frederik Nagel from Fraunhofer IIS: He will teach (in German) how to design, conduct, and evaluate experiments related to human perception, as required for image and audio rendering, virtual reality, etc. The course will have a large practic...
